Cuttack: Barely a week after the high-profile India-England ODI match, the historic Barabati Stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack on Sunday hosted the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) featuring stars from the cine world.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi graced the CCL as the chief guest and inaugurated the league. Majhi’s presence added to the excitement of the game, celebrating the spirit of sports and entertainment. The Chief Minister interacted with the players and took a tour of the facilities at the Barabati Stadium.
Punjab De Sher defeated Bhojpuri Dabanggs in a star-studded match of CCL-2025.
Led by popular actor Sonu Sood, Punjab De Sher defeated Bhojpuri Dabanggs by 13 runs in the high-intensity CCL-2025 match.
Batting first, Punjab De Sher managed 81/4 in their first innings, with Harrdy Sandhu scoring a quickfire 37 off 18 balls. The Bhojpuri Dabanggs, in response, posted 104/5, taking a 23-run lead in their first innings, thanks to Anshuman (38) and Aditya (29).
In the second innings, Punjab De Sher fought back strongly, with Dakssh hammering 73 off just 24 balls, helping his side post 126/4, setting a challenging target of 104 runs for the Dabanggs.
Chasing the target, Bhojpuri Dabanggs struggled against Punjab’s disciplined bowling attack, managing only 89/6 in their 10 overs. Asgar Khan top-scored with 43, but Jassie’s crucial two-wicket spell helped Punjab defend their total successfully.
Cine personalities including Mika Singh, Jimmy Shergill, Ayushmann Khurana, Rahul Dev and Angad Bedi are the prominent members of the Punjab De Sher team.
Actor and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari is the captain of Bhojpuri Dabanggs. Popular actors Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua, Pawan Singh and Pradeep Pandey have been included in the team.
Another match between defending champions Bengal Tigers and Mumbai Heroes is underway at Barabati Stadium.
