New Delhi: The Centre has advised people against subscribing to billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX aerospace company, Starlink Internet Services as it does not have a proper licence to operate in India.
According to a statement issued late on Friday, Starlink had been told to comply with regulations and refrain from “booking/rendering the satellite internet services in India with immediate effect.
”
The business has been registered in India by Starlink on November 1. The company has already begun advertising and it has started pre-selling its service, and according to the government.
However, Starlink was tight-lipped on the matter. “No comment for now,” the company was quoted as saying by news agency Reuters.
A large number of companies are introducing small satellites as part of a low-Earth orbiting network. It is aimed at providing low-latency broadband internet services around the world, with a particular focus on remote areas.
