Bhubaneswar: A multi-disciplinary centre for gender research was inaugurated at Rama Devi Women’s University here on Friday. It has been named after Sarala Devi, noted social activist, writer, freedom fighter and politician.
The Centre was inaugurated by University Vice-Chancellor Prof Padmaja Mishra. The principal of Miranda House Dr Bijaylaxmi Nanda was present. An MoU was signed between the university and Miranda House on the occasion.
Students from Science, Arts and Commerce can carry out research at the centre, focussing on women’s rights and other related aspects. It will later be converted into a Centre of Excellence, official sources said.
