New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday appointed Prof Chakradhar Tripathi of Visva Bharati Santiniketan, West Bengal, as the Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Odisha (CUO) situated in the tribal-dominated Koraput district.
According to the Ministry of Education release, Tripathi has been appointed for a term of five years from the date he assumes office or he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.
Tripathi is a faculty member of Hindi in Visva Bharati.
The post had been lying vacant since July 2021 after the death of incumbent VC Prof I Ramabrahamam with Prof S.K Palita serving as VC in-charge.
