ChatGPT Fastest-Growing App With 100 Million Users; Know What’s It About

New York: ChatGPT is estimated to have 100 million monthly active users in January, within just two months of its launch, reported Reuters.

The popular chatbot from OpenAI – an American artificial intelligence company backed by Microsoft Corp – has emerged as the fastest-growing consumer application in history, according to a UBS study.

ChatGPT, a large language model created by Altman and developed by OpenAI, has made a significant impact on the way we interact with computers.

ChatGPT, which stands for ‘Generative Pre-training Transformer’, is being considered to be a revolutionary technology which allows computers to understand and respond to natural language.

ChatGPT can generate articles, essays, jokes and poetry in response to prompts.

The report, citing data from analytics firm Similarweb, stated an average of 13 million unique visitors used ChatGPT per day in January — more than double the levels of December.

“In 20 years of following the internet space, we cannot recall a faster ramp in a consumer internet app,” UBS analysts noted.

To provide a perspective, It took TikTok around 9 months after its global launch and Instagram two-and-a-half years to reach 100 million users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

OpenAI made CharGPT available to the public for free on November 30, 2022.

On Thursday, OpenAI announced a $20 monthly subscription, initially for users in the US only.
