Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP Y B Khurania on Saturday suspended IIC of Chhatrapur police station Debashish Mohanty for alleged gross misconduct and indiscipline.
According to a notification issued by the state police headquarters, Mohanty was placed under suspension in view of a disciplinary action pending against him, and in the interest of public service. He will remain under the disciplinary control of the Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, Berhampur, during the suspension period.
Following his suspension, the IIC of Chamakhandi police station has been given additional charge of Chhatrapur police station.
Source said that Mohanty was posted at Chhatrapur police station on February 24 after being transferred from Delang area in Puri district due to negligence in official work.
