Chhattisgarh Man Dies As Speeding Truck Hits Bike In Odisha’s Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda: A man from Chhattisgarh died while his wife and minor daughter had a close shave in a road accident in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Tuesday.
According to police, the accident took place when Nohar Sai (29) was en route to Reda village in Chhatisgarh’s Sakti district on a bike with his wife Nila Oren and three-year-old daughter riding pillion.
A speeding truck rammed into their bike as they were crossing Singharpur in Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda near National Highway 49, Nohar died on the spot under the impact of the collision while his wife sustained serious injuries. Their minor daughter escaped unhurt.
On being informed, Lakhanpur police reached the spot and sent Nohar’s body for postmortem while Nila was admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Lakhanpur.
Police have seized the truck and begun a probe. They have also launched a manhunt to trace the driver of the truck who fled after the accident.
