Chhattishgarh Police Interrogate BJD Leader In Murder Case
Jharsuguda: A police team from Chhattishgarh picked up BJD leader Anup Kumar Sai from his house here on Wednesday night for his alleged involvement in a double murder case.
According to media reports, he is being currently interrogated at Chakradharnagar police station in Raighar district.
“We are currently interrogating Anup Sai. If there is sufficient evidence, he may be arrested. He has not been arrested yet,” Raigarh Addl SP Abhishek Verma told a local news channel.
A three-time MLA from from Brajrajnagar assembly constituency, Sai had quit Congress and unsuccessfully represented Brajrajnagar Assembly constituency for BJD in 2014.
During 2019 elections, he was assigned the task of Campaign Committee Chairperson for Bijepur Assembly seat, which was contested by BJD president Naveen Patnaik.
In August 2019, he was appointed chairperson of the State Warehousing Corporation.
