Mumbai: Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is coming up with an animation ‘Stree’ franchise titled ‘Chhoti Stree, which is going to lead into the storyline of the much-awaited film ‘Stree 3’.
At the recent trailer launch event of ‘Thamma’, ‘Stree’ actress Shraddha Kapoor confirmed that the animation series ‘Chhoti Stree’ will be setting the stage for ‘Stree 3’.
Sharing her excitement, Shraddha said, “When Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan) told me about it, I said, Sach mein aapka naam Dinesh Vision hi hona chahiye! (“When Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan) told me about it, I said, ‘Seriously, your name really should be Dinesh Vision’)”.
‘Chhoti Stree’ is a theatrical animation feature film for kids, families, and fans of the ‘Stree’ franchise.
Film producer Dinesh Vijan also confirmed that ‘Chhoti Stree’ is a narrative bridge to ‘Stree 3’.
“The most exciting part is that Chhoti Stree will end with a scene from Stree 3. It’ll transition from animation to live-action, and also answer the question, Stree ki backstory kya hai? (What is Stree’s backstory),” the producer said.
Starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, ‘Stree’, made on a budget of around ₹20 crore, minted over ₹180 crore worldwide.
The second instalment of the franchise ‘Stree 2’ surpassed all expectations, and collected over ₹801.15 crore worldwide in just 35 days.
‘Thamma’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in key roles, will hit theatres on October 21.
