Chief Secy Holds Review Meet To Deal With Heat Wave Conditions

Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Wednesday reviewed the measures taken by different departments to deal with the possible intense heat wave conditions in the state during summer.

Chairing a high-level meeting at state secretariat here, the Chief Secretary asked the Collectors of all the districts to conduct regular meetings on disaster management and raise public awareness on precautionary measures to avoid sunstroke.

Padhi also directed the officials concerned to ensure adequate supply of drinking water to the rural areas of the state and make provisions to provide 24-hour healthcare services to sunstroke patients at hospitals.

The meeting was attended by Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi and other senior government officials.

Meanwhile, Titlagarh emerged as the hottest place as it recorded 40.5 degree Celsius. Similarly, Sambalpur recorded 40.3 degree Celsius followed by Angul at 39.8 degrees Celsius.
