Chief Veterinary Officer Arrested A Day After Vigilance Raid In Odisha’s Nuapada
Nuapada: Chief Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO) of Nuapada, Trilochan Dhal has been arrested by the Vigilance on Monday, a day after raid on his residence and office.
Dhal has been remanded to judicial custody till August 20.
On Sunday, the Vigilance sleuths had intercepted his vehicle around 4 am near Tarini temple in the town and seized Rs 2.77 lakh from his department vehicle.
Further searches at his office, residence and that of his relatives led to seizure Rs 50,000 cash from his office table drawer, Rs 51,200 from his Government residential quarter. The total amount of Rs 3.28 lakh has been seized.
Koraput Vigilance has registered a case under Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and forwarded him to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Bhawanipatna. The court has remanded him to Judicial custody till August 20.
