Berhampur: Due to the efforts of a team of doctors, a child got a new lease of life in Ganjam district on Sunday.
According to sources, while playing outside her house, an iron rod pierced through the mouth of the four-year-old child, Jagyasini Gouda, in Khandadeuli village near Keshpur in Ganjam district.
Her family rushed her to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in the city. A team of doctors including paediatric surgeon Dr Parnaya, Dr Swaroop Mallick, and Dr V Rajesh immediately performed surgery on the child and successfully brought out the iron rod. Jagyasini’s condition was stated to be stable.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has thanked the team of doctors for saving the life of the child.
