CHSE Odisha Declares Class 12 Results 2026 With Improvement Exam ‘Tentative’ Schedule; Know More



Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited Annual Higher Secondary (Class 12) examination results for 2026 were declared by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha on Wednesday, along with the announcement for instant improvement exam, which has been introduced from this year, in the first week of July.

“The improvement exam will be conducted on a single day and all students who have cleared the Plus II exam can take the test to enhance marks in one particular subject without waiting for the next regular examination cycle and improve their chances for admission in different colleges. The results of the same will be declared by July 20 to allow them to apply in Higher Education institutions by August,” Prashant Parida, examinations controller for CHSE, told the media.

Parida further stated that a notification will be issued in the next 7 days along with the SOP for conducting the exam. “This year, students will be allowed to appear only for one subject due to logistics issues. It will be extended to more subjects based on its success,” he added.

The reform is part of efforts to make the examination system more flexible and student-friendly. It also aligns with br

oader education reforms that encourage multiple opportunities for academic assessment.

The Results

The overall pass percentage improved by 2.4, rising to 85.85 against 83.45 the previous year. A total of 3,41,781 students cleared the examination across Science, Arts, Commerce and Vocational streams with girls  again outperforming boys in all streams.

According to official data, the Science stream achieved the highest pass percentage at 88.80%, followed closely by Commerce at 88.07%, while the Arts stream recorded 77.62%.

This year, around 4.01 lakh students registered across all streams, with nearly 3.96 lakh appearing for the examinations. Approximately 2,56,042 students appeared from Arts, 1,14,238 from Science, 24,533 from Commerce, and the rest from Vocational streams.

Students can access their results from 3 pm onwards on the official portals: chseodisha.nic.in, results.odisha.gov.in, and digilocker.gov.in.

To view their provisional marksheet, candidates need their roll number and registration details. The online scorecard displays subject-wise scores, overall marks, grades, and qualifying status. Students have been advised to download and securely save a copy for future reference, such as admissions or applications.
