Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police has made extensive arrangements in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar to prevent anti-social elements from disturbing public on Valentine’s Day.
A total of 15 platoons of police force will be deployed at parks, malls and other public places, a release stated.
Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty assured that individuals or groups involved in unsocial or criminal activities will be dealt with as per law. “We wouldn’t tolerate incidents of harassment with anyone on the Valentine’s Day,” he added.
Mohanty also said that the police will provide security to couples as long as they act and behave sensibly, decently and responsibly.
While Bajrang Dal has said no to harassment on Valentine’s day, local outfit Kalinga Sena has threatened to smudge stinging ‘bichuati’ leaves on couples celebrating ‘the western festival’.
