Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced two areas in the city as containment zones after several COVID-19 cases were detected in the area. The measure was to contain the further spread of the deadly virus infection.
According to BMC orders, a residential colony of the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Bidyut Marg, Unit-V and Behera Sahi, Rudrapur, Ward no 4 were declared as containment zones.
“Several positive cases have been detected inside residential colony of Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB). Bhubaneswar, Bidyut Marg. Unit-V and to contain further spread of COVID-19, it is necessary to make the affected area as a containment zone and to restrict public from entering into and going out of the containment zone,” the BMC said.
The civic body will not allow the public to move into the containment zones while those staying within the containment zones will not be allowed to venture out.
As per the orders, the BMC will supply essentials and ensure medical requirements for the people staying in the containment zones.
The government and private institutions inside the boundary of the containment zones have been shut.
