Bhubaneswar: With traders in the city reluctant to open their establishments due to the “complexity in interpretation” of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on the matter, the Odisha Byabasayee Mahasangh on Thursday urged the civic body authorities to issue it in simple language to clear their doubts.
Mahasangh president Sudhakar Panda said the most of the traders of small establishments have failed to understand the notice as different officials are interpreting the notice on their own.
“As these small traders are being harassed by some police officers whose behaviour is not socially acceptable, the BMC officials have to simplify the notice in plain language for these traders. Let the traders’ body of Bhubaneswar take up the matter with the BMC to get the confirmation on which shops will remain or closed,” Panda pointed out.
