Berhampur: A Class 10 student collapsed inside the hostel premises at Sri Aurobindo Purnanga Siksha Kendra in Khallikote in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday morning and died despite efforts to revive him.
The deceased has been identified as Mihir Pradhan, son of Santosh Pradhan of Bagalpur village under Khallikote police limits.
According to sources, Mihir suddenly fell unconscious when taking a morning walk on the playground in front of the hostel along with his teacher and other students. He was immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre at Khallikote. Doctors at the CHC attempted to resuscitate the student but in vain.
His family members soon reached the hospital and created a ruckus, demanding an explanation over his sudden death.
While the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, police have filed a case of unnatural death and began investigation.
