Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has officially notified students about the opportunity to apply for scrutiny, rechecking, and re-addition of marks following the declaration of the Annual Higher Secondary (Class 12) Examination 2026 results on May 20.
Examinees from Science, Commerce, Arts, and Vocational streams, who are dissatisfied with their results can now seek verification of their answer scripts. The fee for rechecking or re-addition is set at ₹200 per subject. Applications must be submitted online between June 1 and June 12, through the official CHSE website or the designated portal (typically via SBI Collect).
Key Guidelines and Exclusions
CHSE has clarified that project papers and internal assessment marks will not be eligible for rechecking. Students
should carefully review the notification before applying, as the fee is non-refundable.
The valuation process differs by subject and stream:
Online valuation covers all theory papers in the Science stream, vocational trade subjects, and selected Arts and vocational language papers. For these, scanned copies of evaluated answer scripts will be made available digitally.
Offline valuation applies to remaining Arts papers and practical examinations across Science, Commerce, and Arts streams.
A provisional window for downloading evaluated answer scripts (where applicable) is scheduled from June 19 to 23, through respective higher secondary schools. For online-evaluated papers, students typically receive an SMS or email with a secure download link and OTP verification; no hard copies are issued in such cases.
Important Notes for Students
>> Applications are open only to regular candidates; those involved in malpractice or with withheld/invalid results are ineligible.
>> Rechecking primarily involves verifying that all answers were evaluated and marks totalled correctly. It is not a full re-evaluation of content.
>> Changes in marks (increase, decrease, or no change) are possible, and the final updated marks will be considered binding.
>> Students are advised to visit the official CHSE Odisha website (chseodisha.nic.in) or school portals for the exact application link, detailed instructions, and any updates.
