Berhampur: A Class IX student was admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here after allegedly being stabbed by his classmate at Sanakhemundi block under Pattapur police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Friday.
The injured student has been identified as Om Pradhan.
According to sources, the incident took place at Raghunath High School around 9 am after an alleged heated argument between the two students over a particular seat in the classroom. The injured student, who sustained injuries on his chest, was rushed to Community Health Centre at Sheragada by the teachers and later shifted to MKCG as his condition deteriorated.
Police have detained the accused student for questioning.
