Kendrapada: A class 10 girl student was critically injured after allegedly being attacked with a blade by miscreants who tried to abduct her at Pattamundai in Odisha’s Kendrapada on Thursday.
Sources said the incident took place when the girl was returning home after appearing for the martic examination at Manmathnath High School. She was admitted to the Pattamundai sub-divisional hospital in a critical condition.
The miscreants tried to abduct girl in a car when she was on her way back home after the exam. As the girl resisted and tried to escape, the miscreants attacked her with a blade, causing her grievous injuries.
The attackers fled the scene when locals rushed the site after hearing the girl’s scream. The girl was immediately rushed to the hospital in a critical state. Her condition was stated to be stable.
The family members of the girl lodged a complaint at Pattamundai police station. Police have launched an investigation.
