Bhubaneswar: NSS volunteers drawn from all nine educational institutes under SOA University undertook a mega clean-up drive at four different places of historical and religious significance in the capital city on Sunday.
The students went around the 11th century Lingaraj Temple, Khandagiri, Udaygiri and Dhauligiri hills besides the Bindusagar tank where they cleaned up the surrounding.
Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Ananta Narayan Jena was present at Dhauligiri where the students undertook the cleanliness drive and encouraged them.
The volunteers demonstrated before the people the method to prepare a compost pit and how to segregate bio-degradable and non-degradable garbage for disposal. They also staged a street play on the subject to create awareness.
