Close Aide Of Gangster ‘D-Brothers’, Lodged In Rourkela Jail, Dies Of Heart Attack
Rourkela: Notorious criminal Sanjay Sahoo aka Bhajana, a close aide of gangster ‘Dhalasamanta Brothers’ or ‘D-brothers’, died of heart attack in Rourkela Special Jail on Monday.
There were around 20 cases against him, including murder, extortion and kidnapping.
Bhajana was arrested in connection with the sensational murder case of Manoj Mallick alias Dipu and Om Prakash Swain aka Om.
Chauliaganj police in Cuttack had arrested Bhajana as he tried to reorganise his associates while on interim bail from the Orissa High Court and threatened a vital witness at gunpoint in connection with a murder case on February 19, 2021.
Dipu and Om, who were associates of ‘D-brothers’, were kidnapped and beaten to death by the criminal siblings and their associates in a farmhouse near Ansupa in Athagarh on November 12, 2016.
The killers then took Dipu’s and Om’s bodies to West Singhbhum in Jharkhand and buried them after burning them with petrol to destroy evidence.
Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamanta — known as ‘Dhalasamanta brothers’ or ‘D-brothers’ — were arrested in January 2016 during a special operation launched by the Commissionerate Police.
