(NABARD) should strengthen its operations in Odisha for agricultural
and rural development activities, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik
on Wednesday.
Addressing the state credit seminar here, the Chief Minister said,
“NABARD has given an assistance of Rs 14,715 crore last year and this
year, the bank is expected to provide more than Rs 16,000 crore for
carrying out various developmental activities in the state.
The CM expressed his happiness that the State Focus Paper (SFP)
2018-19 is the consolidation of credit potential estimated for various
sectors of the rural economy as reflected in the Potential Linked
Credit Plans (PLPs) prepared by NABARD for all the districts in the
state.
The document, besides presenting a comprehensive picture of rural
economy, highlights the constraints and issues pertaining to critical
infrastructure gaps in various sectors and offers suggestions for
improving credit flow. It presents a holistic perspective for planned
rural development of the state with credit being the major driving
force, Naveen added.
