Keonjhar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday announced a new scheme ‘KALIA Chhatrabrutti Yojana’ to facilitate the children of the farmers, who are the beneficiaries of the KALIA scheme, pursue higher education at free of cost.
Addressing the farmers’ convention in Keonjhar during his one-day visit, he said the children of the farmers under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA), who have taken admission in the government professional colleges on a merit basis, can pursue higher studies the cost of which will be borne by the state government.
“You take care of your children properly and leave their higher studies with the state government,” he added.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated 17 projects worth Rs 66 crore and laid the foundation stones of 47 projects worth Rs 2100 crore.
