Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has praised Chris Morris and Royal Challengers Bangalore for showcasing the selfless work of people like Nilachala Parida of Odisha at the grand stage of IPL 2020.
“These good samaritans inspire the society to stand up for those affected the most by the pandemic,” he wrote.
During RCB’s opening match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday, Morris wore a jersey with ‘Nilachala’ inked on it. He also temporarily changed the name on his verified Twitter handle to Nilachala Parida and posted how this youth from Bhubaneswar set up a vegetable shack and offered free home delivery to senior citizens during COVID-19 lockdown.

The RCB players had decided to wear tribute jersey with “My COVID Heroes” printed on them in honour of all real challengers, who have helped the world during these uncertain times.
