Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday invited a business delegation from Fujian Province of China to the state’s flagship investors’ meet ‘Make in Odisha’ in November this year.
A six-member Fujian delegation led by the head of the organization of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Hu Changsheng, met the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat here with an objective to seek business ties with Odisha.
Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Minister said that the resource-rich Odisha is one of the top three states in the country in attracting live manufacturing investments.
Speaking on the conducive business environment, infrastructure and skilled workforce of the state, he said Odisha intends to facilitate growth in food processing, electronics manufacturing, petro-chemicals, textiles, metal downstream and tourism.
Among others, Industries minister Anant Das, principal secretary, Industries and the Development Commissioner were present at the meeting.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, the minister said that a 6-7 member delegation led by him will visit Fuzhou on August 31 to showcase the investment opportunities in Odisha to the Chinese industries.
He also said that the Chief Minister sought the support of the Fujian Provincial government for the successful visit of the delegation of Odisha.
