Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, who is on a two-day visit to Delhi, on Wednesday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil.
According to sources, the meetings focussed on strengthening Centre-state coordination, accelerating development projects, and addressing the long-standing Mahanadi water dispute.
Majhi described his meeting with Shah as a courtesy call. Both leaders are believed to have emphasised the importance of seamless coordination between the Centre and the state to fast-track Odisha’s growth trajectory.
In his meeting with Patil, the CM raised the state’s concerns over the Mahanadi water dispute and stressed the need for a fair and just resolution. He also presented ‘Vision Odisha 2036 | 2047’, outlining the state’s long-term development approach, to the Union Minister.
Earlier in the day, Majhi had met Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi to address the growing concerns over surplus rice stockpile and sluggish evacuation by the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
