Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is likely to chair a high-level meeting to review the emerging COVID-19 situations in the state at 5:30 pm on Monday.
Top health experts are expected to attend the meeting.
In the ongoing wave of COVID-19, the state has added 20,443 fresh cases since January 1 and the third wave is likely to reach the peak by the end of this month, Health Services director Bijay Mohapatra told the media earlier in the day.
He added that the positive rate is high in four to five districts. Khurda, Sambalpur and Sundargarh are in the RED zone with over 10% positivity rate.

The Omicron tally has also reached 75 with this variant of COVID-19 spreading to all districts of the state.
According to the Institute of Life Sciences, 1,100 samples have been put to genome sequencing since November 29 and 6.81 per cent of them carried the more transmissible Omicron variant.

Odisha now has over 20,560 active cases with Khurda and Sundargh in Red Zone with 6496 and 3060 cases respectively.
