Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved the proposal to open a fire service station on the premises of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, here.
As per the proposal, a station officer along with 10 fire personnel will be appointed at the station. The state government has already created the posts.
While according his approval to the proposal, the chief minister said it would strengthen fire security measures in the prestigious medical institute of the country.
It may be mentioned that fire stations have been set up in three medical colleges in the state including SCB Medical College in Cuttack, MKCG Medical College in Berhampur and VIMSAR, Burla.
At present, there are total 338 fire brigade stations to meet fire related mishaps across the state.
