Berhampur: A coaching centre in Behrampur’s Gajapati Nagar of Ganjam district was sealed by the district administration on Thursday for violating COVID rules.
The coaching centre was functioning despite the Odisha Government’s guidelines of shutting down all educational institutions to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The owner of the centre, ‘Shakespeare’s Evon’, clearly did not pay heed to the state government’s announcement.
Local people informed the district administration that although the shutters of the coaching centre were closed, classes were running inside.
The coaching centre was then raided at around 11 am, following the order of Deputy District Collector, Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde.
Twenty students found in the class were sent home and the coaching centre was sealed. Later, the owner of the coaching centre was issued a notice.
