Coal Laden Goods Train Catches Fire In Odisha’s Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal: In another train related incident in Odisha, a goods train caught fire in Dhenkanal district on Saturday.
As per reports, the goods train carrying coal in the wagons was going from Talcher to Duburi on new Angul-Sukinda route. As the train reached Rangmatia station under Kamakhyanagar police station in the district, smoke started coming out of wagon number 57. Soon the coal in the wagon caught fire.
The loco pilot stopped the train and the station authorities informed the Fire Brigade. A team of Fire officials from Kamakhyanagar rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Earlier in the day, 4 wagons of a goods train got derailed near Ambadola in Rayagada district.
It may be noted that as many as 288 persons were killed in a horrific accident involving 3 trains including a goods train at Bahanaga railway station in Balasore district on June 2. The toll has gone up to 291 with 3 more persons succumbing to injuries.
