Bhubaneswar: The Coast Guard has joined the rescue operation to trace a girl, who went missing near Aryapalli sea beach under Chatrapur block in Odisha’s Ganjam district this morning, the office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) informed on Thursday.
The aircraft has left Bhubaneswar for the location, it added.
The SRC identified the girl as Pragyan Rani Tripathy of Berhampur.
According to reports, five girls were swept away by strong currents while taking bath in the sea. While villagers rescued three girls, body of one, Swapna Rani Pandit from Kanisi area, has been fished out while the other is still missing. Local channels identified the missing girl as Goodly Mishra of Sheragad area.
