Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha recorded season’s coldest morning, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast no large change in the night temperature for next two days.
“Minimum temperature is likely to remain 2-3 degree Celsius below normal at a few places in the state during next 2 days,” the weather agency said, adding that it is likely to rise thereafter by 2-3 degree Celsius at many places.
In the last 24 hours, the mercury plummeted below 10 degrees Celsius at 12 places in the state. G Udayagiri in Kandhamal recorded the season’s lowest temperature at 5 degrees Celsius followed by Phulbani (7), Sundargarh’s Kirei (7.5), Koraput (8), Angul (8), Kandhamal’s Daringbadi (8.5), Keonjhar (8.6), Sundargarh’s Rourkela (8.6), Bhadrak’s Ranital (9) and Jharsuguda (9.2).

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also recorded the season’s lowest temperature as the mercury level dipped to 13 degrees Celsius each. The night temperature in both the cities is likely to hover around 13-14 degree Celsius before touching 15-16 degree Celsius on December 24.
The MeT office has also predicted shallow to moderate fog for 3 days.
