Bhubaneswar: Collectors of Balangir, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Sambalpur have been asked submit assessment report on damage to private properties due to recent flood and heavy rain by August 17.
In a letter, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnuapada Sethi on Saturday directed them to assess damage to houses, animal husbandry, loss of boat and net, damage of fish pond/ fish seed farm, sand cast, damage to crop and loss to handloom and handicraft artisans.
“For assessment of these damages, squad approach must be followed and adequate number of teams comprising members from different departments may be formed. The teams while covering an affected village will asses and enumerate beneficiaries in all sectors simultaneously. The supervising officers shall conduct test checks to ensure correctness in the assessment,” Sethi mentioned in the letter.
They have been asked to take photograph of damages as evidence.
Sethi also instructed Agriculture, Health & Family Welfare, School and Mass Education and Women and Child Development departments to submit damage assessment report to public infrastructure due to recent flood within a week.
They have been asked to assess the damage and take up the immediate repair of public properties such as primary school buildings, primary health centres, roads, bridges, drinking water supply schemes, minor irrigation canals, community assets and power.
All assistance will be deposited in the account of beneficiaries through online transfer, he added.
