Gaya: In a disgraceful incident, a college principal was arrested here on Saturday in connection with the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) paper leak case.
A special investigation team (SIT) of Economic Offenses Unit (EOU), which was probing the case, found evidence to link Ram Sharan Singh Evening College principal Shakti Kumar with the scandal.
Kumar also runs a school and is a Janata Dal United (JDU) leader. He was organization secretary of Rashtriya Lok Samta Party, which later merged with JDU.
The EOU team found that Ram Sharan Singh Evening College was a centre for BPSC preliminary exam centre on May 8 and Kumar was the centre superintendent for the test.
When the question papers were brought to the centre through a Flying Squad at 10.15 am, Kumar allegedly scanned it and linked it via his mobile phone.
He then sent the scanned documents through WhatsApp to Kapil Dev, a clerk in a central government office in Prayagraj, at 10.30 am.
Kumar admitted to having scanned and leaked the question paper during interrogation.
Three people arrested earlier from Delhi had obtained question papers from Dev, who is on the run.
A total of 15 people have been arrested so far, but none more high-profile than Kumar.
It is the biggest arrest so far in the 67th BPSC paper leak case.
