Come Back To Family & Lead A Normal Life, Absconding KBN Gang Leader Bubu’s Brother Appeals

Bhubaneswar: With the Commissionerate Police intensifying its drive against Koi Bhai Nahin (KBN) gang in the city, the brother of its leader Bubu Jena on Wednesday appealed to him to return to the family.

“Bubu is a normal boy like any of us. He is just protective about his friends. If he is involved in any violent activities, it is only to protect his friends. When any of his attacks is attacked by somebody, he rushes to save him,” said Bubu’s brother to a local channel.

He said Bubu has been falsely branded as KBN gang leader and the police have filed all cases pertaining to the gang against him. “I don’t know if he is the leader of the KBN gang or not. I have heard it from the media only,” he said.

On the video that is circulating showing Bubu wielding weapons, he said “Bubu is not a criminal. There is no criminal record or police case against him till date. I don’t know if he has any weapon or not.”

On Bubu’s family life, he said, “Bubu is a responsible family man. He takes care of us. He has stood by us in all difficult times and helped in all possible ways including financially. He has been only misdirected under the influence of his friends.”

Speaking on what he has to say his brother who has been absconding, he said he would want him to come back. “I will appeal to him to return to the family and lead a normal life. Please come back to us. ‘Bhavi’ (sister-in-law) is very disturbed and unhappy. If you don’t return, she may desert you and go back to her parents’ house,” he said in a choked voice.

Earlier in the day, a team of Commissionerate Police conducted a raid on Bubu’s house at Talabania near Pokhariput in the capital city.

Bubu is the leader of KBN gang which comprises 29 members. Of them, 9 members have come under legal custody. While five are already in jail, two members – Chenga and Sanjay – had surrendered before police on Tuesday.
