Mumbai: After facing several obstacles, Amitabh Bachchan-starrer ‘Jhund’ has got a release date. And that, too, in theatres.
As the Bollywood megastar tweeted, “it’s comeback time now”!
To be directed by Bollywood debutant Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, the film will hit cinema halls on June 18 this year. Manjule is known for Marathi blockbuster Sairat and the critically-acclaimed drama Fandry.
“COVID gave us setbacks but it’s comeback time now! We’re back in theatres. Jhund releasing 18th June,” Big B tweeted and also shared the film’s poster.

The 78-year-old Bachchan plays the role of Vijay Barse, a retired sports teacher who starts a slum soccer movement. The film is co-produced by Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Raj Hiremath, Manjule alongside Tandav Films Entertainment and Aatpaat Production.
Bachchan, last seen in Gulabo Sitabo, has three more films lined up for release — Brahmastra, Mayday and Chehre.
