Bhubaneswar: Parents and guardians should prevent their children from playing the deadly Blue Whale Challenge by ensuring that they browse age-appropriate online sites, which do not promote unethical behaviour, and using parental control on all devices, said Police Commissioner Y B Khurania.
Addressing a workshop on Blue Whale Game organised by Commissionerate Police here on Friday, Khurania advised the parents to explore the online world with their children in interesting activities demonstrating ethical and safe online behaviour and ensure that they accesses internet from a computer placed in the family space.
“The teachers working at various educational institutions should keep an eye on falling grades and social behaviour of the students, frequently monitor their behavior and sensitise them about the pros and cons of the internet from time to time,” he added.
The workshop was attended by IIT Bhubaneswar assistant professor Dr P Bera, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrat Bhoi, UNICEF child protection specialist L Nanda, parents, professors, principals of different schools and colleges.
