Berhampur: The Ganjam administration on Sunday sealed Matia Sahi village under Baghalati panchayat in the district.
Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said that over 130 people from Bomikhal in Bhubaneswar, which has reported four COVID-19 cases, have come to this village. “The area has been declared as a containment zone as a precautionary measure and screening process is on,” he said.
People and vehicles will not be allowed to enter or leave Matia Sahi until further orders, the official notification said.
The Golanthara police station IIC has been directed to create a temporary check post at the entry points. Tehsildar, Kukudakhandi, has been asked to ensure complete lockdown of Matia Sahi.
Similarly, Kukudakhandi BDO has been instructed to ensure home delivery of essential commodities to people of Matia Sahi during this period.
Any person found violating the lockdown will be taken to a compulsory quarantine facility at NIST, it added.
