Bhubaneswar: Tweets condoling the death of veteran singer Chitta Jena started pouring in as soon as the news broke this morning.
Chitta Jena, 76, breathed his last at a private hospital here. His health had deteriorated in the last 20 days according to son-in-law and actor Mihir Das.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik grieved the loss of the music veteran and tweeted in Odia:
କିମ୍ବଦନ୍ତୀ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ପ୍ରଚ୍ଛଦପଟ ଗାୟକ ଚିତ୍ତ ଜେନାଙ୍କ ଦେହାନ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ଜାଣି ମୁଁ ଦୁଃଖିତ। ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଚଳଚ୍ଚିତ୍ର ଜଗତର ଅନେକ କାଳଜୟୀ ସଙ୍ଗୀତକୁ ନିଜ କଣ୍ଠସ୍ୱର ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେ ସମୃଦ୍ଧ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ତାଙ୍କ ଅମର ଆତ୍ମାର ସଦଗତି କାମନା କରିବା ସହିତ ଶୋକସନ୍ତପ୍ତ ପରିବାର ପ୍ରତି ମୋର ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଉଛି।

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also tweeted about Chitta Jena’s demise.

Actor and BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty referred to Chitta Jena as ‘one of the sweetest voices of Odisha’ and tweeted:

Odisha Congress President Niranjan Patnaik also mourned the loss and tweeted:
