Cuttack: Congress MLA from Cuttack-Barabati Md. Moquim found himself in an uncomfortable situation after DCP Cuttack tweeted a video clip, stating that an attendee, who is a namesake of the lawmaker, of the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi and his family had tested negative for COVID-19.
This audio is an appeal of Md. Moquim of Tablighi Jamaat who visited Delhi & with family were checked & found negative. So appealing to all cooperate with administration & It’s a very good gesture from Md. Moquim to fight against #Covid19. @cpbbsrctc @SarangiSudhansu @DGPOdisha pic.twitter.com/j337lCudei

In a tweet on Friday, the Odisha MLA urged @DCP_CUTTACK to cross-check the spellings before posting name of COVID-19 suspects to avoid confusion.
I would like to urge @DCP_CUTTACK to ensure to mention proper name of COVID19 suspect who tested negative before making such sensitive post to avoid confusion & @sambadenglish to correct the Wrong News Published!@cpbbsrctc @SarangiSudhansu @DGPOdisha @homeodisha

He also thanked Mohammed Mukim Younus of Cuttack for cooperating with the administration and for appealing to all those who attended the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi to come for the COVID-19 test.
Moquim also urged all those who attended the Jammat to stay in home quarantine and follow the government instructions.
This forced the DCP, Cuttack, to clarify in a separate tweet that the person he had referred to was not MLA, Cuttack-Barabati.
This audio is an appeal of Md. Mokim Younis of Tablighi Jamaat who visited Delhi & with family were checked & found negative. Yesterday Media was informed by us that he is not MLA Barabati – Cuttack.
