Bhubaneswar: With on aye on dual elections in Odisha this year, senior leaders of major parties will start visiting the state to woo the voters. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting in Sambalpur on February 3, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will attend the Odisha Bachao Samavesh in Bhubaneswar on January 29.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Sarat Patnaik said Kharge will address the Samavesh to be organised at Lower PMG Square in the city to prepare the party workers for the launch of campaign for coming elections.
Claiming the Central leaders of the party have zeroed in on Odisha to bring a political change in the state, Patnaik expressed confidence that Kharge’s visit will bolster the confidence of the party workers to put up a strong fight against the ruling BJD in the elections.
Besides addressing the rally, Kharge will also meet senior party leaders of the state to discuss the election issues. He will also meet the leaders of the parties of INDIA block, Patnaik said.
“Since Rahul Gandhi will cover Odisha during his Bharat Nyay Yatra, the Congress president, who is coming to the state for the first time, will also discuss the routes and its itinerary with us,” he added.
