Congress Is Most Anti-Dalit, BJP Retorts To Kharge’s ‘Terrorist Party’ Remarks
New Delhi: In a fierce rebuttal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘urban Naxals’ jibe, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday accused the BJP of fostering a culture of terrorism, perpetrating violence and discrimination against marginalized communities.
“Progressive people are being labelled as Urban Naxals by the Prime Minister. This is his habit. But it is his party that is a terrorist party. They engage in lynching, assault people, urinate in the mouths of Scheduled Caste members, and rape tribals,” Kharge said.
He alleged that Modi’s government is responsible for the very atrocities he speaks against. “Wherever his government is, atrocities are committed on people of Scheduled Castes, especially tribals. Then he keeps talking about atrocities… it is your government, you can control it. The BJP not only tolerates such heinous acts but also supports the perpetrators,” he added.
Following BJP’s victory in Haryana Assembly polls, Modi had asserted that people have shown they will not fall prey to the hateful conspiracies of the Congress and “urban Naxals”. “The entire ecosystem of Congress and the entire gang of urban Naxals were busy misleading the public. But all the conspiracies of Congress were ruined. It tried to spread lies among the Dalits. But the Dalit community sensed their dangerous intentions. Dalits realised that Congress wants to divide its vote bank by snatching away their reservation,” he said.
Speaking to ANI, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla dubbed Kharge’s comments as an insult to the Indian electorate. “Crores of people have voted for the BJP in 2014, 2019, and now in 2024. This is a clear insult to their wisdom but Congress has made it a habit. They have called the public ‘Rakshasi’… They are saying that the people have elected terrorists,” Poonawalla said.
“They have always used such kind of language abusing PM Modi… They are abusing the OBC Samaj and the people… This shows the character and the DNA of Congress… They gave the reservation of SC/ST from Jamia and AMU to Muslims… Congress is the most anti-Dalit party,” he added.
