Congress Promises ‘Peaceful’ Odisha Bandh Tomorrow; Know Timing

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha bandh called on Monday will be peaceful, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Niranjan Patnaik said on Sunday.

The Congress leader informed that the bandh will be observed for six hours from 7 am to 1 pm.

Patnaik further said essential services like health, ambulance, vehicles used for emergency services, medicine outlets and milk supply will continue as usual.

Besides, vehicles draped with flowers for marriages and hearse vans will be allowed to ply, he added.

Niranjan said that apart from the steep hike in fuel prices, the bandh call has been given against the state government’s alleged failure to resolve the unemployment problem, curb atrocities on women and children and deteriorating law and order situation.
