Bhubaneswar: In the wake of the ongoing allegations against him by some of his party workers and local leaders of his constituency, senior BJD leader and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda today said a conspiracy is on to remove him from the party.
“I have no intention to quit BJD. But a profound conspiracy is on against me to remove me from the party,” Panda tweeted.
The statement of Panda came following the statement of a person, who in his tweet, had urged the Chief Minister to urgently intervene in the matter. He also had said that BJD will sustain massive loss if Panda quits the party. The party would also lose the confidence and trust of the younger generation and the educated people in the state, he maintained.
Reacting to Panda’s tweet, BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb said the statement tweeted by Panda is his own statement and he can give any statement if he wants.
However, Deb said that instead of making his statement about the conspiracy hatched against him in his twitter account, Panda should directly talk to the party high command. “Who will answer to his question in the social media? This is a fruitless exercise as it will have no impact either on his party or on the decision to be taken by the party supremo,” he pointed out.
He also said that the observer of Kendrapara District BJD Pramila Mallick has already submitted her inquiry report to the Chief Minister who will take a decision after going through the report.
Meanwhile, Planning & Convergence Minister and observer of Cuttack District BJD, Usha Devi arrived at Mahanga this morning to probe into the allegations against Panda. Sources said the minister will discuss with the party men at Irrigation dak bungalow at Goudapada later in the day. Later, she would visit other areas of Mahanga, Nischintkoili and Salepur and collect information from the party workers.
In the recent past, there have been allegations against Panda by some of his party workers of his home constituency while some party workers have lent their support to him.
