Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a set of guidelines for strict implementation in containment zones to isolate possible cases of COVID-19 infection and contacts.
As per the guidelines issued by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy:
— The containment zones will be barricaded from all sides to prohibit entry and exit of people.
— Vulnerability mapping will be done for households with single women, aged persons with no support, pregnant women, seriously ill persons and persons with disabilities.
— Teams of Anganwadi workers, ANMs, other health workers and teachers will visit house to house to check the health condition of the people in the containment zone. Medical officers will supervise them for such surveillance and experts on community medicine and epidemiology from medical colleges and Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) in Bhubaneswar will provide technical guidance.
— The samples of all people having flu like symptoms shall be collected and tested. Samples of asymptomatic persons may also be collected at random to rule out any local transmission.
— The respective collectors and municipal commissioners will carry out adequate IEC activities to communicate the rationale and modalities of containment. They will also take all possible steps to provide essential commodities, medicines and other requirements at the door steps of every family
— The authorities concerned will take care of the special needs of PWDs and other vulnerable people
— WhatsApp group of prominent persons of the area will be created so that appropriate information sharing can be carried out
