Bengaluru: Controversial Karnataka minister KS Eshwarappa was forced to put in his papers on Thursday evening amid growing uproar over contractor Santosh Patil’s suicide case.
The BJP clearly read the riot act as even 24 hours earlier, Eshwarappa had turned down vociferous demands from Opposition parties to quit.
The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister has been booked for abetment of suicide based on a complaint from the deceased’s brother, Prashanth Patil.
Santosh, found dead at a lodge in Udupi two days ago, was suspected to have committed suicide.
Santosh accused Eshwarappa of corruption in a purported suicide note sent on WhatsApp to some media houses.
