Bhubaneswar: The contractual nurses, who were on a cease-work protest
since last ten days, have decided to put their strike on hold until
March next year.
The move came after the contractual nurses appointed under the
National Health Mission (NHM) got assurance from the state government
officials that their demands will be fulfilled.
“We have decided to put our agitation on hold after the officials
concerned assured us to fulfil five of our seven-point charter of
demands. If the government fails to heed the demands, we will hit the
streets again”, All Odisha Contractual Nurses’ Association President
Gangadhar Panigrahi said.
The major demands of the association include regularization of job and
hike in salary.
