Bhubaneswar: Sub-inspector (SI) of Dhauli police station sustained injuries in an alleged attack by drug peddlers during a raid at an abandoned house near SBI branch at Sisupalgarh, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, late on Friday.
According to sources, the incident took place when some drug peddlers attacked SI Ramesh Bhola, who was leading a police team following information about illegal drug trade at Sisupalgarh village last night. The police officer sustained severe injuries in his head after being hit with a hammer and was rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment.
In the melee, the police team, however, managed to nab four accused.
