Paralakhemundi: Police on Friday seized around 200 kg of red sandalwood and arrested three persons, including two from Odisha, near Kosamala village in Andhra Pradesh.
The accused from Odisha were identified as Sheik Salim and Ketan Pani, both residents of Paralakhemundi. The third accused was identified as Srinivas Rao of Andhra Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a car near Labanyagada area in Gajapati district and seized the sandalwood. The vehicle was on its way to Visakhapatnam.
Investigation into the matter is on, police said.
